Here
is a
very unique walkaround. This is the only complete Focke-Wulf Fw-58
Weihe remaining in the world. It is a Fw-58B-2 and was produced (or
assembled) at Galeão factory in Brazil in 1941 under registry number
1530. Brazilian Navy used Fw-58s from 1939 until 1941 in training,
bomber and patrol roles, when they were transferred to the then
recently created Aeronautics Ministry. They remained in operation until
1949, when the last one was discharged.
These photos were taken during a recent trip to the Brazilian Aerospace Museum,
and the old Weihe is in relatively good condition, considering the
rarity of the type. It was restored during 80-90s and wears Brazilian
Navy markings and camouflage from their operational time.
Enjoy... you won't see another one so soon.
I hope
you find these photos useful somehow. If you have
any interesting information about the history of this aircraft, please drop
me
a
line.
