Wojciech Kulakowski has sent us great news about Silver Wings newest release. Their second model is the Heinkel He-51 in 1/32 scale (the first is the Southampton in 1/72, also reviewed here). If you do not know Silver Wings, it is a "new company founded by modelers, who have extensive modeling experience for over 10 years, with headquarters in Poland (Cracow)". Since they are all modelers, we could not expect less than great releases. Silver Wings generously sent us a preview of what to expect from the kit. Check out the photos of these masters.

From the photos, it is evident that the fuselage halves will incorporate the structural details. Note that the tubular cage around the cockpit is accurately detailed.

The control surfaces are separately molded, and the pilot's door can be posed open.

Decals include a He-51 from JG 23 and another from the Condor Legion.

Wow!!! A He-51 in 1/32... At last.

If there is a fighter from the 30's that has been overlooked by model manufacturers, that is the He-51. It saw service during the Spanish Civil War, and was the test bed for the cradle of the new Luftwaffe. Now i
magine a He-51 along with Furys, I-16s and other airplanes from the 30's...

Wojciech told us that the He-51 will be out by March/2009. Watch this space for a full review of the kit soon.

And by the way... Silver Wings is currently working on a American biplane fighter from the 30's.

Our sincere thanks to Silver Wings.
